Prior to joining UDL, alan obtained a PhD with a focus of the characterisation and fundamental studies of particulate matter from combustion processes, with particular emphasis on automotive emissions and the development of suitable diagnostics. This research was funded by a major United Kingdom automotive engineering consultancy firm. Since entering the profession, Alan has been developing his patent experience in general, while specialising in mechanical patents, particularly those relating to the automotive field. He is also developing his trade mark and registered design experience and is currently studying for the CIPA qualifying examinations.
