Simon Thomas

Simon joined UDL in 2007. Simon's PhD research related to tungsten and molybdenum organometallic complexes. After finishing his studies and moving to the UK in 1997, Simon was the in-house editor of a review-based drug discovery journal. Prior to joining UDL, he worked for two mid-size London patent practices dealing with a wide variey of clients and technologies. Simon has experience in the drafting, filing and prosecution of UK, European and foreign patent applications dealing with subject matter relating to polymers, organic synthesis, surfactants, pharmaceuticals, inks, cements and mechanical inventions including medical devices. Simon has travelled throughout India and Australia giving presentations to local firms and clients on European law and practice. He has expanded his experience into the biotech sector, and has a growing number of clients in this field. Simon also has experience in the filing of UK and Community registered design applications and works closely with the attorneys in UDL's Cardiff office, making regular visits to Wales.
