After completing his Degree and PhD at University of Leeds, Andrew stayed on as a Research Fellow to continue his work developing microactuators and microfabrication techniques. Prior to entering academia, Andrew worked as a qualified electrician, which, when combined with his academic career, provides him with an unusually wide range of practical technological experience. He is currently qualifying as a UK and European Patent Attorney specialising in the drafting and prosecution of patents for mechanical, electrical, electronic and software inventions.
