LeedsAndrew was an examiner in the electrical division of the UK Patent Office working on acoustic, alarm, optical and computer systems before joining UDL, where he became a partner in 2006. He handles inventions in the electrical and mechanical arts generally and has particular expertise in the patenting of computer hardware and software. Representative technologies recently handled include semiconductor devices, wireless telecommunications hardware, website architectures, wireless gaming and bioinformatics. He counsels a wide range of clients including University spin off companies, SMEs and PLCs, on the protection and enforcement of all aspects of intellectual property. He has worked at a US law firm in Silicon Valley where he qualified as a US patent agent. He is a member of the Computer Technology Committee of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and regularly speaks and writes about software patents.
