Clair’s PhD in Biochemistry gives her a comprehensive scientific knowledge of the mechanisms that underlie pathologies, while her experience as an in-house patent attorney for a FTSE 100 global medical device company provided invaluable insight into the commercial considerations surrounding innovations including orthopaedic devices, wound-closure devices, enteral devices and auto-injectors.
During her post-doctoral studies, Clair researched the preventive effect of green tea-derived catechins in preventing cartilage breakdown. Clair retains her passion for innovations relating to the use of naturally-derived products (nutraceuticals) for preventing and treating human pathology. She is also involved with the emerging nutricosmetic sector and the concept of ‘beauty from within’.
Clair entered the profession in 2002 and joined UDL in 2015 after working for a global law firm.
