Jonathan is primarily active in the mechanical patents field. He advises on, drafts and prosecutes patent applications across many technology sectors including beverage dispense and packaging technology, automotive and aerospace engineering, oil and gas production, building materials and medical devices. He also takes an interest and works within the green technology sector and renewable energy production.

Jonathan represents a wide range of local clients and works on behalf of a trusted network of attorneys around the globe in prosecution and hearings before the European Patent Office and UK Intellectual Property Office. He directly handles the patent portfolio of one of the world’s largest producers of spirits and beers, and acts as the European patent representative for various US-originating cutting-edge technologies.

Having first qualified as a New Zealand and Australia patent attorney, Jonathan moved to the UK and joined UDL in 2002. In 2017, he returned home to New Zealand and spent a year working with its top patent firm before moving back to the UK and re-joining our Milton Keynes office.
