Simon handles inventions mainly in the electrical, mechanical and optical fields. He has worked in technology areas as diverse as paper manufacturing, technical fabrics, automotive engineering, oil and gas production, microscopy, imaging devices, agricultural machinery, plastics manufacturing, aluminium production, printer technology and mobile work platforms. In the developing green technology sector, Simon has assisted clients in relation to pollution monitoring systems, biodiesel production, low energy lighting, low energy housing and environmentally-friendly waste disposal.

Simon deals with all aspects of patent-related work including drafting patent specifications, prosecuting them around the world and dealing with potential infringement matters. He represents clients in the UK, Europe, China and the USA and has considerable experience in handling hearings at the European Patent Office.

Simon entered the profession in 1986. He joined UDL in 1994 and became a partner in 2011.
