Do I get copyright protection automatically?

To get the benefit of copyright protection, a work must be ‘original’ in that there has been sufficient skill, judgement and individual effort in its production and the work has not been copied from another. A number of recent decisions of the CJEU have altered the understanding of what can be considered sufficiently original.

How we can help

We can help you to identify if copyright exists in a work you’ve created and what steps you could take to identify yourself as the author of the work.
